This course is an introduction to government and politics in the United States and California. Students examine the constitutions, structure, and operation of governing institutions, civil liberties and civil rights, political behaviors, political issues, and public policy using political science theory and methodology.
Practical professional experiences related to the field of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Students complete an unpaid internship with a ²¡¶°Ò¹ÇÚ intercollegiate sports team to gain meaningful work experience and earn credit towards their Athletic Coaching and/or Personal Training Certificate of Achievement. Students will be exposed to the practical application and responsibilities of coaching and personal training through observation and hands-on training. One unit of credit is earned for 54 hours of unpaid or paid work.
In-depth study of American Indian cultures and the impact of state and federal policies and laws pertaining to tribal sovereignty
and self-governance. Covers the effects of and resistance to colonization and cultural appropriation upon American Indian cultures
and religions. Students gain a practical understanding of the cultural, political and legal challenges faced by American Indian tribal
nations in our own region and across the country.
Support for students who are concurrently enrolled in MATH 101, Beginning Calculus. Topics include concepts and skills from precalculus that are needed to understand the basics of Beginning Calculus. Concepts are taught in the context of the linked Math 101 course.
This course provides a foundation for and introduction to the main topics in calculus such as limits, continuity, and differentiation.
