Catalog Description

An introduction to the roles and core competencies of Community Health Workers (CHW) and the requirements of the ²¡¶°Ò¹ÇÚ CHW Certificate Program. Students will learn key public health concepts and models for providing person-centered services, and assess their readiness and interest in the CHW Certificate Program.

Section Notes

This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. Live online meetings take place on Mondays from 5:40pm-7pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. In-person meetings take place on Wednesdays from 5:40pm-8pm at Ocean Campus. This class is part of and is 4 weeks. For student support and other services, students can check . Recommended Preparation, ESL 186 or placement in ESL 188 or readiness for college-level English
